Chapter 3 – System Configuration

Let us again go back to our story line – We have done the blueprinting of the house, created the design and now what? No one can stay in the design document per say for the house! Hence, it is required that the construction of the house is initiated so as to bring the house for real.

Similarly, all of the decisions made regarding needed configurations in the design phase get deployed here. This is where the implementation team will load the chart of accounts, as well as any static data such as the customer master, leave master, employee master, historical data migration activity, etc.

There are a set of dependencies as mentioned in Chapter 1 which need to be taken into consideration before moving ahead with the configuration of Alt HRMS. In addition to the dependencies there are a set of do’s and don’ts which need to be taken into consideration while configuring each and every module.

Do's and Don'ts while configuring the modules:

1	Tenant Setup	• Use a single tenant for multiple organizations falling under the same group companies
2	Organization Setup	• Org Code should be at least 3 characters long with CAPS • While assigning modules, along with HRIS one should also select HRIS Core • URL for UAT and production will be same only however “UAT� will be concatenated with production URL to create the URL for UAT o URL created should be binded with DNS server to be available publically • Mobile enable option should be selected for all customers o Vendor offering to be enabled for mobile users (Deals of the day) • All roles should be selected by default • Menus should be copied for only those modules for which have been signed • Only these dashboards should be enabled based on request – Events, Announcements, My Tasks, Important Links, Anniversary, Welcome, New Joiners • If required, product announcements can be enabled • Login flag should be 0.

This phase generally comprises of “out of the box� setup which includes:

1. Creation of user roles

2. Defining the access privileges

3. Setting up system workflows

4. Form security

5. Setting up employee master and organization master

6. Defining system rules

7. Creation of email templates/ letter templates

8. Setting of user reports

9. A lot more……

On an average any module in Alt HRMS can be configured within 17-18 working hours. We have tried to split the effort across different modules to help you estimate the time required to configure the respective module.
